Licensing
What is Art Licensing?
I love to create artwork for other people to enjoy. When I create an illustration or design I own the copyright to this artwork. However, creators of other beautiful products (such as homeware goods, apparel, published works, digital content and many other wonderful things requiring art) can work with artists to bring a bit of artistic flare to their products in order to capture the attention of their own audience.
As an illustrator and surface pattern designer, I can give clients permission to recreate my artwork on their own products for set periods of time or product runs with a licensing contract. My clients typically pay an agreed upon royalty based on the sales they make with my artwork on them.
For further information on how to commission or license my artwork, please read my step by step guide below.
Commissions and Licensing Agreements
If you like my style and would like to work together please send me an email- I’d love to hear from you!
Step 1.
Email me.
I update my licensing portfolio with new illustrations and seamless surface pattern designs which are available for you to license from me.
Tell me a little bit about your company and request the password to view my private licensing portfolio
OR
Let me know that you are interesting in commissioning a custom design which I would create just for you or your client.
Step 2.
We agree a royalty payment plan in the form of a written contract
OR
We agree a ‘one off’ commission or design buy out fee.
Step 3.
I’ll send you high quality files of your chosen artwork. I will work with you to ensure that these files are perfect for your products.
(You may or may not be able to use this artwork on your own products based on the terms of our commission/licensing agreement).
Step 4.
If we have agreed on a royalty payment plan: you pay me an agreed upon royalty either monthly or quarterly based on the sales you make with my artwork on them.
Contact ME

It will be helpful when contacting me to include a description of:
1. If you are looking for a custom design or a design from my current portfolio. If you have a design brief or design specs in mind already please include these details.
2. Licensing- How long you want to license the artwork or if you are looking for a complete design buy out.
3. Your budget or proposed royalty agreement.
These details will help me to understand what you are looking for.
I am happy to work with you to create something that suits your needs and budget. If you don’t provide a contract that is ok- you are welcome to request my own ‘Acceptance of Commission’ contract.
